Make the text prove the answer
Correct evidence must support the specific claim in the question. A related sentence is not enough.
Make it repeatable
- Underline the claim you must support.
- Find the line or data value that directly bears on it.
- Predict the evidence before inspecting options.
- Reject choices that are merely topical or require an extra assumption.
Watch the method in action
A claim says a plant grows better in shade. Data show average growth of 12 cm in shade and 7 cm in sun.
- The claim compares two conditions.
- The matching data compare those same conditions.
- The 12-versus-7 result directly supports greater growth in shade.
Use the paired values, not an unrelated fact about the plant.
